I have almost nothing constructive to say here other than that I am in a Russian Studies seminar devoted to Dostoevsky and his novels and I have absolutely no idea how you could write something like them. Like I get typing them out whatever but how can you hold that many lifelike people in your head while doing human and political themes? And he wrote them kind of quickly?? Have you ever tried to write a character? I have and it was worse than a cartoon.

I would probably not appreciate these novels as much as I do now if I had read them independently. However our professor (shoutout Clint Walker) has spent a good deal of his life reading and thinking about these novels, and points out the absurdly sophisticated things Dostoevsky is doing. I have to write a 12 page essay on one of them so I may go into more detail later.

All in this guy’s head.

Portrait of Dostoevsky

Final item. Fyodor is the same as Theodore. This was obvious to my wife but not to me!

Final final note. I had reservations as to the quality of posts here but after trying hard I have figured I am not yet capable of making better ones! So more slop of hopefully increasing coherence.
